Tacchella Crossflex
Tacchella Crossflex: flexible external grinding machine
The strenght of th new Tacchella Crossflex external grinding machine is meeting productivity and flexibility keeping its minimized dimensions. The historical name is inspired by its main feature: the movement of the grinding head generated by the crossed overlapping of the working axes (Z and X). The design of the CROSSFLEX range is perfect to solve any production requirement, even the most specific. It allows the use of conventional grinding wheels up to a diameter of 610 mm with three wheel unit orientation systems The AS150 version completes the CROSSFLEX range with versions specifically dedicated to the use of high-speed CBN cutting technology, with wheel peripheral speeds of up to 120 m/s. The modularity of the product makes it possible to offer maximum deployable technology with low investment.Details that make the difference
Cast iron basement
Stabilised, ribbed cast iron basement with peripheral coolant circulation channels. The machine model is designed using advanced 3D parametric modelling techniques and FEM analysis.Workhead
The universal workpiece-holding head from Crossflex is perfect for surface and inter-spindle grinding with fixed and rotating spindles. Manufactured with high-precision bearings, which guarantee a roundness of less than 0.001 mm, the new workhead is on a swivelling base, with a micrometric adjustment device. Progressive speed variation is performed by means of a digitally-controlled AC Brushless motor, while to facilitate the movement during machine set-up, the unit is equipped with a pneumatic lightening device. A C-axis is also available as an option for machining non-round workpieces such as threads, cams, eccentrics and polygons.Wheelhead
The grinding wheel carriage can be configured with different automation levels in order to meet the most different grinding requirements ensuring maximum flexibility of use. RAS – M manual orientation on two angular positions 0° +26°34' for grinding operations (straight or oblique); "Quick Clamp" carriage clamping with pneumatic system to facilitate the orientation. RAS – A automatic orientation in two angular positions 0° +20°. RAS – B continuous automatic orientation with B axis between -5° +26°34'Tailstock
The tailstock of the Crossflex is hydraulically driven. Equipped with a safety device for clamping between centres and adjusting the axial load, it also has an integrated micrometric workpiece cylindricity correction system and a pneumatic lightening mechanism to facilitate movement during machine set-up.Software Tool Operator Package
Our interactive T.O.P. (Tool Operator Package) grinding software takes the operator step-by-step through the entire machine operation, easily and in compliance with safety regulations. The software makes it easy to manage automatic grinding cycles; roughing, semi-finishing, finishing and quenching during plunge and pendulum cycles. The developed man-machine interface uses a few simple pages with graphic support. The operator can set the operations to be performed for set-up via wizards and for the execution of all available machining operations.Preset for automation
The Crossflex range of grinding machines has been specifically designed to be easily interfaced with different types of automation: robots, gantries, integrated loaders, post-process measuring stations. The machine is therefore equipped with a shank for automatic compensation of grinding wheel wear and automatic positioning of the coolant nozzles.Discover the possible workings
External grinding cycles on diameters, shoulders, cones or contourings can be freely integrated together with the description of grinding wheels and diamonds to create the part program as required.
